When LaPrairie Group brought Accusteel a heavily fatigued K-Line 120-ton transporter, the goal was to rebuild the unit from the ground up. The trailer required extensive structural repairs, system upgrades, and custom modifications to bring it back to a level of performance suitable for heavy construction and industrial transport applications.
Accusteel completed a full heavy haul trailer rebuild and retrofit, combining engineering expertise with custom fabrication to strengthen the existing unit and prepare it for continued operation.
The Challenge
After years of heavy-haul work, the transporter was showing significant fatigue across several areas. LaPrairie Group required a comprehensive refurbishment rather than standard trailer repairs for the K-Line 120-Ton Transporter, seeking a total overhaul to restore the equipment and improve its operational capabilities.

- Hydraulic & Control System Upgrades: Fully rebuilt and replaced the hydraulic, auxiliary, and control systems as part of a comprehensive trailer refurbishment solution
- Steering System Improvements: Upgraded the steering dolly with Accusteel’s compensated steering system, including manual front and rear steer capabilities for improved heavy haul trailer performance
- Frame & Suspension Rebuild: Revised frame components and rebuilt all suspensions and plug wheels as part of a complete trailer rebuild and repair service
- Custom Trailer Modifications: Extended the jeep for a double jeep configuration and fabricated a custom counterweight box to support proper weight transfer, showcasing our custom trailer fabrication capabilities
- Complete Equipment Restoration: Manufactured new deck sections as required before sandblasting, priming, and painting the full unit as part of a full-service trailer refurbishment process
