The Challenge
Nickel Bros needed a specialized trailer to transport large evaporator units from Lewiston, Idaho, to Grande Prairie, Alberta. Manufactured in Asia, these evaporators required extremely low ground clearance to meet strict highway height restrictions. Standard trailers couldn’t meet these demands, making a custom OEM trailer frame the perfect transport solution.
The Solution
Leveraging extensive experience in custom chassis, frames, and structural moving solutions, our team at Accusteel designed and manufactured two custom 100-ton Schnabelneck trailers in just four months. Collaborating closely with Nickel Bros’ engineers and the evaporator unit fabricators in Asia, our in-house manufacturing team created specialized linking systems that ensured safe and secure transport. This partnership ensured the trailers featured specialized linking systems to handle the unique load securely. Additionally, Accusteel provided on-site support in Lewiston to facilitate a smooth and trouble-free setup.
The Results
The custom Schnabelneck trailer successfully met all height, weight, and transport requirements, allowing Nickel Bros to move the evaporators safely and without delays.
